Do the math before you subscribe
Many transcription tools charge a monthly fee, often with a free plan that limits minutes. Prices and limits change, so check each provider's current page. The question to ask is simple: how many hours do I transcribe per month?
Two kinds of users
- Heavy users (daily meetings, a podcast, a call-centre style workload) usually benefit from a subscription or a bulk plan.
- Occasional users (an exam course, a one-off interview, a few important calls a month) often pay for a plan they barely use.
How pay-per-session works
With Pendict you pay €5 per session, and a session lasts up to 4 hours. There is no account, no card stored by Pendict, and nothing renews. If you use it twice this month and never again, you paid €10 and that is the end of it.
A quick comparison
| Subscription tools | Pendict | |
|---|---|---|
| Commitment | Monthly or yearly | None |
| Account | Usually required | Not required |
| Cost if you use it once | A full month | €5 |
| Cost for daily use | Often cheaper | €5 per session |
| Free trial | Varies | 2 demos of 2 minutes |
Our honest advice
If you transcribe every day, a subscription may be cheaper. If you transcribe now and then, paying per session is simpler and cheaper. Try the free demos and decide.
