Six habits that improve accuracy

Pendict uses a modern speech model, but good input still matters most. These simple habits make a visible difference.

1. Pick the language yourself

If everyone speaks one language, select it instead of auto-detect. Auto-detect is great for mixed or unknown audio, but a fixed choice avoids guesses in the first seconds.

2. Start before the speech starts

Begin the session while the room is still quiet. Wait for the "Ready" message before playing audio or speaking, so the first words are not lost.

3. Keep one audio source in the tab

Music, notification sounds or a second video in the same tab mix into the text. Close other media in the shared tab.

4. Reduce background noise

Ask participants to mute when not speaking. For microphone use, keep the device close and avoid fans or traffic.

5. Expect names and jargon to need a check

Rare names, brand names and technical terms are the most likely to be wrong. Skim for them afterwards, or search the transcript for the term and fix it.

6. One voice at a time

Overlapping speakers are hard for any system, human or machine. A short "let's go one at a time" helps both the people and the transcript.
