Pendict at a glance
Pendict is a live transcription service that turns a browser tab, or your microphone, into text as it is spoken. This page lists everything it does, in plain language.
How it works
- Open pendict.com in Chrome, Edge, Arc or Brave on a computer.
- Choose a language, or auto-detect.
- Press start, choose the tab with the audio and tick Share tab audio.
- Read the live text. Copy it, or download it as
.txtor.docx.
Everything it offers
- No bot. Nothing joins your meeting. Why that matters.
- No install, no extension, no account. It is a web page.
- No file needed. It works live, instead of after you upload a recording.
- Any browser tab with audio: Zoom in the browser, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, webinars, YouTube, online courses and more.
- Several tabs at once, each its own session. How.
- Quiet operation. Captures the tab's audio itself, so your speakers can be muted.
- Discreet. No participant appears in the call. Read the responsible-use notes.
- 17 languages plus auto-detect. Including English, Romanian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
- Microphone mode (Dictate) for phones, tablets and computers.
- Simple pricing: 2 free demos of 2 minutes, then €5 per session of up to 4 hours. No subscription, nothing renews.
- Live chat support on every page, answered by the team directly. Details.
- Pay securely through Stripe.
Who uses it
Students, language learners, journalists, researchers, remote workers, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and anyone who needs a transcript now without setting up a tool.
Where it fits among other tools
- Compared with meeting note-takers (Fathom, Otter, Fireflies)
- Compared with human transcription
- Compared with free tools
- Pay-per-use vs subscription
Limits to know about
- Tab capture needs a desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Arc or Brave). On phones, use Dictate.
- No speaker labels, AI summaries or team library.
- Accuracy depends on clear audio. Check names and technical terms afterwards.
